real life is sad but I only have four days of it until I go back to derbyland! thank you, brewhaha.
this is a post about how many awesome, amazing people I have met in the past four days and how sad I am to go back to real life and leave roller derby summer camp.
i reached one of my long-term roller derby goals and it feels great. honestly it was a goal i didn’t think i would reach until next season or beyond. breaking my ankle really messed with my derby plans and at so many times i thought i would never feel confident again. i thought it would be constantly frustrating and painful, but i worked my ass off to change that. it has changed and i will continue to work my ass off to keep getting better and better.
so, now i set new goals, and i keep doing whatever i’m doing because it’s working.
this is why i talk about roller derby so much, i am in the midst of a definite five, possible eight weekends of derby:
5/12: south bend saturday, practice sunday morning.
5/19: home bout saturday, practice sunday morning and night.
5/24-28: wftdacon!
6/2: brewhaha bouts saturday and sunday
6/9: home bout (not skating because it’s an a/c team double header but i’ll still be there!)
6/16: A BREAK! aka i will sleep all weekend!
6/23: possible bout at brewcity saturday (very likely), pride sunday
6/30: bout at aurora (i won’t skate since it’s a cteam bout but i’ll go and cheer)
i am so happy for days off during the week!
